As we wander in and out of the experiences in our lives, we are easily fragmented between responsibilities to family, friends, employers, and the larger human community. Because of the perceived lack of time to get things done, we may think we don’t have the time or energy to engage in a few moments of prayer.
That was very same sentiment experienced by Saint Francis of Assisi until he realized that prayer was more real than many of the things he had been considering more important – money, status, fame, and his father’s approval.
Prayer changed Francis and helped him find a new life path; only in prayer did he find the strength to lead people who wanted to the teachings of the Christ. Prayer sustains us in ways we may never understand. We come to prayer in our time of need, and we come to prayer in our time of celebration.
Your prayers mean so very much to our dedicated ministerial team, as well as our community members. Thank you for thinking of us and for keeping us in your heart. We ask the Creator to hear your prayers and to bring everyone hope and peace of mind!
Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Together we can make the world a better place.
