A Pastoral Center provides training and resources to the community, whether lay or clergy, as they work to proclaim the message our Christ gave us in a changing world. The skills and knowledge needed to deliver Jesus’ message must be constantly developed and renewed. One of the main functions of the Pastoral Center at Sacred Wandering is to empower people to bring the Christian message of love, forgiveness, compassion, and healing (among others) to the community at large, and to give people the confidence to be strong and compassionate witnesses of hope and love in a challenging and often dispiriting world.
We do so not only through our ministry of mental health and other complementary forms of healing, but also through our parish, Nuestra Señora del Camino*** (Our Lady of the Way), which provides the central focus of our ministry – the celebration of the Sacraments.
Primary to the Parish is its relationship with the People of God and empowering Spiritual through the salvific vision of love, compassion, and service through the life affirming celebration of the sacraments.
Because the love of God was so great, He gave us His only Son that we might live eternally through Him. In that light any action which calls upon the presence of God through the Holy Spirit can and should be considered sacramental in nature.
The Pastoral Center celebrates the universal (catholic) tradition of the seven sacraments:
- Confirmation, Blessing of the Holy Spirit
- Celebration of the Mass, Liturgy of the Word, Holy Eucharist.
- Hospital, Nursing and Home visits, Communion Calls, and Final Anointing.
- Wake Services, Funerals, Memorial Services & Christian Burials.
- Marriages, Commitment Ceremonies, Union Blessings and/or Partnership Blessings**.
- Pastoral Counseling & Spiritual Direction, Confession
We are seeking a sacramental home in the Mequon area until we are able to build our own center, which will focus on healing and the sacraments. For more information, please visit our Locations page for more information.
**All people are treated equally at Sacred Wandering and its representatives . No one is turned away based on gender expression or identity, nor of sexual preference, race, age, or other social barriers.
***Nuestra Señora del Camino (Our Lady of the Way) was added to our list of DBA’s on January 1, 2020 in honor of the Blessed Virgin.
